After Vaughn passed away we quickly decided that we wanted to carry on his legacy through this foundation. In all of the hospitals we spent time in, we saw children and families that had a more difficult situation. We saw that small gestures could make a big difference for the children and the families. Based on our experience with Vaughn and the time we spent in many hospitals we came up with the following Mission Statement:
The love, vaughn foundation’s mission is to help children and their families affected by childhood diseases and developmental challenges.
We are looking to do this in many ways. Some will be smaller gestures like toy drives and some will be larger, like starting a music program for kids that are living in the hospital for long stretches of time. Our goal is to use funds raised as efficiently as possible while creating the largest impact we can on their lives.
Vaughn was an inspiration to so many people. He faced countless obstacles, yet he never complained and he never let anything get in his way. His love for his family was unending, and that love is what we want to bring to others through the foundation. The love, Vaughn foundation is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization that can not exist with the help that we receive from so many friends, family, volunteers, and donors.
